“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
-Dr. Seuss
I made it through the week! Rob and I were exhausted after our overnight trip, simply counting down
the hours and minutes until it was dark and we could legitimately go to
bed. So, unfortunately, Sunday got the short end of the stick. Very few photos... however, those that I did take bring the week full circle.
Now for the fun part... what to do with the photos (and journaling that I've been dedicated to recording in Evernote)??? I've been super inspired by Nettio Designs' WITL templates, but I'm not sure I want to commit to those. I'm anxious to see how other participants are tackling this challenge... hoping that all of those ideas will inspire me to do something awesome with mine.
I would totally recommend this project to anyone, scrapbookers and non-scrapbookers alike. If you don't think you can manage a whole week, try a weekend or even just one day. I think that it's so cool to see the image and text merge to form the full story. And, I know that years from now, I will be so grateful to have these stories of everyday life.

Week in the Life: Day 6
"One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.”
-William Feather
As it happens, the last time I did Week in the Life, we went to a bike race... this time when I'm doing Week in the Life, we went to a bike race.
For the past three years, Rob and I have looked forward to the Twilight Criterium in Athens, GA--a professional bike race around downtown Athens. [2011 & 2009] This year we got to bring along some new cycling fans and meet up with some old ones. Always lots of fun!

Week in the Life: Day 5
“Happiness, not in another place but this place...not for another hour, but this hour.”
-Walt Whitman
A lot of good journal-worthy stuff happened today, but not necessarily a lot of photo-worthy stuff. I made some big strides, met some big challenges, and discovered awesome solutions in my freelance work, but it all happened on the computer screen.
I also went to a new-to-me scrapbook store, but the adventure happened when the gps got me lost in the boonies. And, of course, once inside the store itself, I was too enthralled to take many good pics. To top off the evening, Rob and I curled up on the couch for a double dose of romantic comedies, yet he won't let me take his picture. Oh well...

Week in the Life: Day 4
“The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.”
-Mike Murdock
I love this project... even in the routine... I'm seeing the everyday things with a new perspective. I'm giving the self-timer on my camera a workout. I'm embracing the sameness and the variety that comes as the days fly by. Even though I cringe at the blank walls in my house, I love that my photos show what it looks in these first days of calling it home.
And, if you're wondering (like my mom did) about my red face in yesterday's post... that photo captures my first ponytail since cutting my hair short a few months ago and was taken right after a workout. I am NOT dying of some horrible rash. I DO, however, wish that I had thought to take the photo before my run, rather than after!

Week in the Life: Day 3
"There is no such thing in anyone's life as an unimportant day."
-Alexander Woollcott
This is when the monotony of my week begins... how many pictures can I take of me sitting at a desk working on the computer? But, yet whether I'm at work or at home, that is how I spend my days. Such is the life of a graphic designer.

Week in the Life: Day 2
"Start living now. Stop saving the good china for that special occasion. Stop withholding
your love until that special person materializes. Every day you are alive is a
special occasion."
-Mary Manin Morrissey
Week in the Life is still going strong! Took my camera to work today and yesterday. I felt a little bit sneaky, as I still don't know anyone very well yet.

Week in the Life: Day 1
"To be a photographer, one must photograph."
-Harry Callahan
I wasn't planning to participate in Ali Edward's Week in the Life project this time around. I did it about a year and a half ago, and while I really enjoyed the result... I just wasn't feeling it this time. That is, until Sunday evening when I ran across this super inspiring post from Nettio Designs. Within moments, I had jumped in headfirst.
