"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter is New Year's Day."
-Edith Lovejoy Pierce
What will the gift of this new year bring? In my dreams, I wish that I am an optimistic, go-with-the-flow, creative woman of the world who carries with her a wonderfully homey vibe. But unfortunately, you can't google that and find a step-by-step how-to guide. Believe me, I've tried. After thinking hard about what I want from my life, I've created my 2010 manifesto...
Go ahead and finish. I won't leave things that can be done now. I made this goal a couple of years ago and really stuck to it. In most instances, it keeps me from being absolutely lazy. Instead of leaving the trash on the counter, walk it to the can. Instead of dropping the towel on the floor, hang it up on the hook. But where else can it apply?
Find time. I will find time to just be me. To relax. To be creative. To make memories. By necessity, I've been consumed by school since September. And while I have 18 weeks of school before summer vacation, I've got to schedule some time for myself.
Attempt. Even if I might fail. I feel like I'm stuck on a plateau, too scared to climb onward. I took a big risk with my career in 2009, but I'm frozen again. Even with the mundane.
you're back!! Happy 2010! :)
